Het Zuidelijk Toneel: Large, national theatre company

Het Zuidelijk Toneel (The Southern Theatre) (hereafter named HZT) is one of the largest theatre companies in the Netherlands. The company performs in theatres, on site-specific locations and in small venues in The Netherlands and Flanders. Under artistic leadership of Matthijs Rümke, it enables a small number of chosen directors and writers to produce and perform works under the heading of HZT. Together with national and international organizations, we are dedicated to developing new repertoire and enabling fresh theatrical talent—be they directors, actors or writers—to work with an extensive company that performs in large auditoriums.
